Every dad loves his kid very much. However, every single father is not alike & there are many versions of dad one can come across. Bollywood is also no exception to this theory & it has given us many fathers who have etched their impact in our memory.
On the occasion of Father’s day, let’s look at the different types of dads Bollywood have churned out. Our tribute to them.
Amrish Puri immortalized the role of a strict dad of Kajol in “DDLJ”. Though his façade was very tough, he had a quintessential heart of gold inside him & he loved both his daughters with all his might. Most of the Indian children might identify their father with him.
Amitabh Bacchan has done roles of possibly all types of fathers & in his latest movie “Piku”, he has done the role of a slightly irritating, but hugely caring & very modern father. Seriously, how many girls boast of a father who simply refuses to marry them because he thinks girls lose their sense of ambition after marriage! Respect!
Well, if you don the gate up of a lady to desperately meet your daughter with whom you are not allowed to meet, you, without a doubt, are a very loving dad. Kamal Hassan portrayed this immensely lovable character in “Chachi 420”& made it unforgettable.
How could our very own “Sanskaari Babuji” not be on this list! Before becoming an epitome of tradition & worshipping, he made his mark as Salman Khan’s dad in “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun” & later in “Hum Saath Saath Hain” & played the cultured & righteous dad to perfection.
We all search for a friend in our dad & nobody played the friendly dad as beautifully as Anupam Kher did in ‘DDLJ’. The father-son bonding he shared with Shahrukh Khan in that movie is what kids wish & want from their father to this day.
